HyperIM 2.14 and Yahoo Messenger

HyperIM  is a useful software which has two main functions: status manager & answering robot, for use with Yahoo! Messenger.

The status message can be customized and can contain some details: current date/time, song info (title, bitrate, sample rate, duration, ASCII progress bar of the playback, playlist position, playlist length) of the currently playing media. It supports Winamp, BSplayer and foobar2000 (in order of retrievable infos). Statuses can be saved and reused.

Also, an answering robot can automatically reply to messages received. Answers can be saved, and customized to each user ID. - Select a contact you wish to text

If you want to send an SMS message via Yahoo! Messenger 9 to a person that is not in your contacts list follow these steps: Actions menu -> Send an SMS Message -> Other contact. Alternatively you can just press Ctrl + T -> click Other Contact.

How to send SMS Messages in Yahoo! Messenger for Mac
- Select a contact you wish to text
- Go to the Contacts menu and select Send SMS
- Alternatively you can right click a contact -> select Send SMS message.
- During a conversation, you can always hit the Voice and SMS button in the IM window.

- If a contact is not in the Mobile Contacts group and you want to send that person an SMS message, simply type that person’s name in the Find Contacts bar and hit Enter. A new IM window where you can type in and send an SMS message will be launched.

- Launch the Yahoo! Messenger for iPhone app.

Copy same contact to different groups in YM

Groups are a useful way to keep your contacts organized in your list.You can add your contact to your multiple groups in yahoo messenger.It is really easy to do.

Step 1: click once on a contact in your list to highlight/select it.

Step 2: Click on the Contacts menu at the top of your Messenger window and go to “Manage Groups”.

Step 3: Click on “Copy to Group”. You’ll first be asked to select the contact you want to copy. Then in the final step, you’ll indicate to which group you want to copy it.

When you’re done, you’ll see the contact is visible in both groups in your contact list. Just repeat the above step if you need to add that same contact to additional groups in your list.

And if the time comes where you only need that contact in one group, you can easily remove it by right clicking on the contact in the group, and selecting delete. As long as the contact appears in one group, it will remain in your contact list.
